Updates
What has changed in each Nyshporka release: new models, speed, Supriaha — with measurements and what to do after updating.
Large handwriting, printed books and Soviet-era files
Certificates and forms in large handwriting can now be read in the cloud too, Books of Memory and voter lists are read by the print machine, and you can check a single word instead of the whole line. New kinds of files added: files of the repressed, filtration files, minutes of meetings, personal files.
Read →New models read old handwriting better
Pysar v28 and Diak-Litopysets v10 make fewer errors in 19th–20th-century parish registers, revision lists and confession lists, and read the 18th century noticeably better. Also: hundreds of cases to Supriaha overnight, order on the disk, films with several cases.
Read →How to work with Nyshporka — now on video
Short video lessons of 5–9 minutes: how to install Nyshporka, connect an assistant, find an ancestor in an archival book and build a family tree where every fact has a clipping from the scan. Free, and the series keeps growing.
Read →A family site that is easy to browse, even on a phone
The family site has been rebuilt: a tree around any person, a person page with the family and a timeline of life, hypotheses, a map. In seven languages, with a switcher. It is built and opened straight from Nyshporka or with a separate shortcut.
Read →Unproven points about your family no longer get lost in notes
Each hypothesis about the family is now recorded separately: what it rests on, which document will settle it, and which findings are waiting for your word. And newspapers, journals and directories are read in the cloud by a separate print engine.
Read →You can now correct a file you shared with Supriaha yourself
Uploaded the wrong file, the reference code landed in someone else's book, the file was re-read better, or the title and years were wrong — now you can fix it yourself, without writing to a moderator. And anyone who took a file from Supriaha will learn that its author has withdrawn or replaced it.
Read →You know more about a file than its inventory says: file notes
File notes: what a file really contains, where the archive's inventory is wrong, where a copy is kept, how a difficult surname reads — other researchers see this on the book's page. Also: searching among victims of repression, a village's parishes from reference works, lists of files from Wikisource, searching what has been read across a whole fond, and reading you can pause, change and finish.
Read →Nyshporka 0.24.0: new models for 18th–19th century manuscripts
Surnames in 18th-century parish registers are found six times more often, and Polish cursive has 38% fewer errors. The new Pysar, Diak-Litopysets and Skryba PPv3 on kraken 7.1 — figures, speed, questions and answers.
